VXX provided another day of love with the continuation of the new trend higher. My short volatility covered calls continue to decay nicely with the underlying lifting higher again today. Having a short position with VXX call options is interesting when you think about what it means.

It was a good and frustrating day all in one. The iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term ETN (VXX) have me some more love today. This has been a hugely profitable trade and fade for me for over a week now. It moves higher I cover, and when it moves lower I short puts and or write covered calls. Rinse and repeat.

Another Friday and Apple is still strong even after pulling back

Apple appeared to have a good day despite its relatively small pull back. I was short a debit spread that was looking like it may not pay off. Today was finally the day the register rang for me and while I left some money on the table the option play cashed out for me. I guess my odds were better than the Mega Millions.
Natural Gas Inventory Moves Higher Putting Pressure on Gas Futures, Gold Moves Lower

Prices of natural gas futures are trading near a 10 year low after higher supply inventory surprised traders. An exapansion was not unexpected given the recent supply and weather, but what was surprising is the amount of the growth. Supplies are plentiful with storage volumes almost 60% above the 5 year trailing average.
Apple Still Strong And VXX May Continue Bounce

Apple (AAPL) proved that when in doubt the latest price moves will stay above the 9 day moving averages. Until we see a major blow-off top or a break with confirmtion its still time to maintain a long in Apple.

Containers Pile Up In European Ports Waiting For Container Ships to Sail To Asia

As if Europe doesn't have enough troubles with the economy, it appears exporters are being advised they shouldn't or cant book sailing to asia. With the Chinese new year shutting down everything but the fireworks the spring festval is taking a toll.

Shares of the 2x VIX Short Term ETN fell again today with trading down about 29% as of this writing. This brings the Credit Suisse exchange traded note into the front spotlight as volume once again explodes to levels of twice the average daily volume.
