Wow, what a day with the S&P 500 VIX ETN (VXX). After climbing very nicely throughout the day and even starting out on the right foot, the VXX feel off the cliff at the end of the day.
Today the S&P 500 VIX ETF (VXX) made a TD9 while already a combo 13. This sets up a recycle of the combo 13, but also means that the price is likely to pop on Wednesday or Thursday. The option premium is espeically rich right now with the price moving lower as it has.
I am closely watching Apple (AAPL), VXX and MBIA (MBI) for trade entries. As Apple flirts with $600 it appears likely it will press through and close above. The question is at what point is the best odds for committing to the move?
Iron Mountain Inc. (IRM) has a lot going for it as a short term covered call play. I especially like the April series due to the rich implied volatility relative to the Beta of 0.86
Fear and greed, we all know about it or should anyway. This week was about fear with Pandora (P) and after a horrific earnings report the stock fell to its knees. Friday witnessed new recent lows for investor confidence as shares traded down for the fourth day in a row.
I have been on iDump watch with Apple (AAPL) for days now. Today is one of the rare days I didn't trade it. It's a hard stock to trade other than the chart. The raw number price per share is intimidating to most and the size moves the stock can make are intimidating to almost everyone (even if they don't admit it).
