Below is the list of dividend paying stocks that I will be focused on in trying to capture a dividend from now until they trade on the ex-dividend date. I also hope to gain as much or more from the stock option premium received with call option writing. Many of these are option premium captures as much or more than anything else. The stock dividend is almost acting like the hedge and not as much as a stock dividend capture..
This list is based on my first screening, and I have not looked at each one to see if there are any "gotchas" to contend with. Things I will be looking for are earnings, FDA, CEO and management teams, SEC filings, and about a billion other important factors before making a move.
The real sweet spot is generally writing at the opening of the day and also at the end of the trading day when buyers often step up and drive the price of premium higher. As we get closer to the stocks trading ex-dividend, it becomes nearly impossible to capture the minimum premium needed. As a result it's a hard balance to find the right mix of time (risk) and premium. I contribute detailed ideas in the Rocco Pendola Stock Option Newsletter every week. You may find out more by clicking on the link. The newsletters are released before the open on Tuesdays. Also, I provide greater color on my favorite ones at TheStreet.com
